Rayville police make drug arrest

A shoplifting complaint lead to a drug arrest for the Rayville Police Department recently.
Rayville Police Chief Willie Robinson said RPD Officer Logan Parrish was dispatched to Dollar General in Rayville on Nov. 7 in response to a shoplifting complaint.
Upon arrival she spoke with a witness who advised her there was a female inside the store who was suspected of concealing items in her purse and clothing.
Upon entering the store, Parrish made contact with the suspect, who was later identified as Lindsay Cline, 33, of 27121 Falcon Lane in Denham Springs.
At the time, the police report says Cline was bent over her buggy, moving items around and dropping some on the floor.
Officer Parrish then informed Cline she was under arrest for shoplifting.
During booking, Cline was found to be in possession of numerous pills. A search of Cline’s purse resulting in finding two prescription pill bottles. In addition, officers found a syringe containing residue wrapped in a napkin inside the purse.
Cline was charged with shoplifting, possession of a Schedule IV drug, possession of Schedule II drug, possession of a Legend Drug without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cline was then booked into the Richland Parish Detention Center.
