Richland Parish voters helped elect a senator and district court judge and passed a sales tax renewal for the Town of Mangham over the weekend.
John Kennedy was elected as the state’s new senator with 61 percent of the vote statewide.
Kennedy received 536,204 votes to Campbell’s 347,813 on the state level.
In Richland Parish, Kennedy won by 69 percent with 2,929 votes to Campbell’s 1,297
In the race for Fifth District Court Judge, Steve Dean won by 54 percent with 5,557 votes to opponent Clay Hamilton’s 4,738.
In Richland Parish, Dean won by 54 percent with 2,136 votes to Hamilton’s 1,827.
Voters in Mangham overwhelmingly passed a one cent sales tax renewal by 87 percent with 133 voters in favor of the renewal and 20 against it.
