Holiday parades rescheduled for this weekend

Bad weather caused both the Rayville and Mangham Christmas parades to be rescheduled last weekend.
Both parades are currently scheduled to go ahead Saturday.
The Rayville Kiwanis Club will host its annual Christmas Parade at 10 a.m Dec. 10 with the theme Joy to the World.
The parade will begin at the parking lot at First Baptist Church of Rayville and finish at the same location.
Rain out will be decided by 9:30 a.m. and in the case of a rain out, the parade will be rescheduled for the following Saturday.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three floats of non-profit clubs, organizations, churches and schools. First place will win $100, second place $75 and third place $50.
A trophy for first place will be awarded to the winning business or corporate float.
Three-wheelers, four-wheelers and go-cars will not be allowed to enter the parade unless they are part of an organized group.
Horses will be allowed to follow the parade.
Floats having children on them must be escorted by at least four adults. One must walk in front of the float, one behind the float and one on each side.
Participants must provide their own candy or trinkets.
Judging will be based 40 percent on content and theme, 40 percent on art and 20 percent on participation and enthusiasm.
Those wishing to enter the parade are encouraged to show up at the starting point.

The Town of Mangham’s Christmas parade will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 10.
This year’s parade theme is “Holly Jolly Christmas.” The parade route will start at the Mangham High School parking lot and travel down Main St. All participants should be at the school parking lot no later than 2:30 p.m.
A fireworks display will begin at dark.
The parade committee would like invite all civic groups, school groups, car clubs, riding clubs, and motorcycle groups to come out and join in.
This year, side by sides will be allowed in the parade. Side by sides must be clean and decorated. No four-wheelers will be allowed.
