The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office has successfully concluded two manhunts.
Eddie Toston fled from court and stole a truck Nov. 16 while facing felony drug charges in Oak Grove.
Richland Parish deputies spotted Toston north of Holly Ridge on LA 183 and pursued him. Toston ditched his vehicle, fleeing on foot.
Local law enforcement was joined by surrounding law enforcement agencies and Toston was captured the next morning without incident on US 80 near Moss Oak.
The next manhunt began while deputies were conducting a routine traffic stop Nov. 17 on a vehicle near Start.
At that time, David H. Dickson, who was wanted for felony theft in Ouachita, Madison and Richland Parishes, fled from the passenger side of the vehicle, leading to another manhunt with local and surrounding agencies.
Dickson was captured the next day on Lord Road in the Start area.
Richland Parish Sheriff Gary Gilley would like to thank his deputies for the long hours they put in and for the help provided by local and surrounding law enforcement agencies.
Sheriff Gilley would also like to thank the public for the calls and tips that were provided.º
